Orchestral test

Emmett offered me a Cubase/Vienna Ensemble Pro crash course yesterday, and let me tell myself: it was gloriously fun sitting in his studio, trying out a number of the multitudinously different instruments, all sounding beautifully realistic.

Since I’ve never played in a band, it was a bit of a challenge not to write the music in e.g. MuseScore, but to record it on the fly on the keyboard, one channel at a time, trying to keep up with myself and remembering what all the other instruments would be doing in the next bar and in the next one. In the end I opted for a sort of creepy setting rather than real music.

The music part will come later. It’s a helluva lot to learn before that opportunity presents itself.
